The Blue Skies from Now On video I responded with is loaded with Stellar Jays…what we have to put up with because we don’t have cardinals.
I videoed these cardinals in Lafayette, Louisiana. The mother cardinal nested in our yard again last year. I’ve been looking for her now…maybe she wised up to the fact that we have two Jack Russells!
This reminds of my childhood in Ohio. So many red cardinals there. And the contrast of their feathers on the bare tree branches was one of the treats of winter.
Thank you! The parent cardinals were very protective. When I got close, they would swoop in and scare me to death, which is why I made my son (Blythe) wear the hard hat while we tried to get them out of the back yard. Unlike the Jacks, I’m a “sissy”!! I stayed on the porch.
This is so typical of a Jack these guys are cute the Birds and the Jacks It really funny that the lady taking the video squells everytime the bird come near lol did you actually get hit by one of the wee birds LOL then she says that “they not gonna hurt you boys name… LOL but she squeels when they come near LOL Cute video!!
